A holder of Masters of Science in Community Health and Development of Great Lakes University of Kisumu, Bachelors of Divinity of St. Pauls University, a Higher Diploma in Community Health and Development of Tropical Institute of Community Health and Development and a certified course in Health Economics and Financing.He is the Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Southern Nyanza and was previously the Human Resource and Financial Resource Manager of the said Episcopal see, he has been a Parish Minister responsible for Pastoral and Parochial administration was also employed by the Teachers service commission as a teacher. He has successfully carried out various key consultancy jobs in Strategic plan development, Baseline survey and worked as a lecturer in peace negotiation and Human Resource Management.
He has served in various policy making boards as an executive committee member amongst them National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) a member of the District Education Board of Suba District, a Board member of Church Commissioners of Kenya a Company holding in trust all Church property. He has chaired several Boards of Management of Schools. The Bishop has written various papers in Organizational Development, Poverty and Health and the role of the Church in Health Sector reforms.

Bishop Joseph holds Masters of Sacred Theology of Nashota House Theological Seminary in USA and another Masters of Divinity of the Episcopal Divinity School in Boston USA with trainings in Leadership and Finance for Non Finance Executives from Haggai Institute in Singapore, Dialogue and Peace building at New Port Beach California USA and Training of Trainers (TOT) in Counselling and Community Health with World Council of Churches Education Unit.
He works as the Dean of the Anglican Church Province of Kenya making him the Deputy of the Archbishop and Primate of Kenya, He is also the Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Maseno West and a Part Time Lecturer at Great Lakes University of Kisumu Bishop Okullu College and Oasis Counselling Centre. He was previously The Principal of St. Johns School of Mission and Development and a Parish Minister responsible for Pastoral and Parochial administration. He has vast experience in Governance having led various National Bodies as National Chairman of National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), National Chairman of Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK), Chairman of Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS), Chairman of Uzima Publishing House providing strategic direction and oversight and a Co-Chairman of Inter Parliamentary group that negotiated the minimum reforms in Kenya that paved way for the general elections in 1997.
He has been a member of various Boards and Trusteeships among them Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Anglican Consultative Council the worldwide body that determines policy and Doctrines in the Anglican Church, World Council of Churches Assembly a Worldwide Ecumenical movement that focuses on Justice, Peace, Faith and Order in the World, All African Council of Churches an African Continental ecumenical movement, ACK Staff Provident Fund a human resource retirement outfit that focuses on investments and retirement benefits all over the country and Tropical Institute of Community Health and Development (TICH) a research and development institute known for Championing Health systems in Kenya.
The Bishop Holds over 30 years’ experience in Strategy and Policy development, Change Management, roundtable negotiations, conflict resolution, Community service, Pastoral Counselling, Gender advocacy and Public Policy execution. He has written various papers in Gender issues in development, Human sexuality, Role of the Church in Development, pastoral letter on HIV and AIDS, Partnership, Mission and Stewardship and a 52-page book on Reflections on a decade of Evangelism Churches in solidarity with women.

Prof. Kodia is a holder of Phd (Summa cum laude) of Northwestern Christian University, Masters in Theology and Bachelors in Theology of Charles University in Prague. He has written and published in the following areas The Sociology, Theology, and Intricacies of Truth in Modern Society, Towards a ministry of social service and challenges of volunteerism in the church and society in Africa, Religious, Cultural and social burdens as major contributing factors in the level of poverty in Africa, The Role of the church in democratization processes in Kenya, The Prognosis of the Church’s involvement in Development in the context of her mission, Gendered Economic and Social privileges as an obstruction to Biblical Justice , Balancing a Gendered Worldview: Politics and Religion in Focus, Volunteerism and Development, Poverty in Grace: Social Responsibility of the Church and Society in war against Poverty Nairobi, Theology and Politics of Biblical Exposition and its relevance to Church and society, Mission to the Voiceless and Sharing of Mission
He is Presently the Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Bondo and has previously been Ag. Vice chancellor for Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), Principal of Bishop Okullu College, Registrar of GLUK, Director of Studies at Carlile College and Principal of St. Philips Bible College. The Bishop has carried out several consultancies in Ghana and Southern Sudan including Strategic Plan development and peace and Conflict resolutions. The Bishop has held various governance positions among them the Clerical Secretary to the Provincial Synod of the Anglican Church of Kenya, a member of the committee on communication and research, the secretary of the Health and HIV/AIDS committee and the Anglican Colleges at the provincial synod level and a member of the permanent commission on sub division of Anglican Dioceses. He has also been collated and installed as a Canon Theologian.

The Bishop is a holder of Masters of Arts in Religion of Maseno University and a Bachelors of Divinity of St. Paul’s University. Presently he is the Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Maseno South and was previously The Vicar General of the same Diocese besides being an Archdeacon a Rural Dean and a Vicar responsible for Pastoral and Parochial duties and a Theological Education by Extension Trainer.
He has been the Vice Chairman of Kisumu County Education Board, a member of Kisumu West Technical committee on HIV/AIDS, a member of Probation and after care committee, a member of the Court user’s committee at Maseno Law Courts and a Presiding Officer of the Electoral Commission of Kenya. He has also served in various Board of Managements of Schools among them Maseno Girls Boarding, Chulaimbo Secondary School, Wagwer Secondary School and Maseno School for the Deaf. Bishop Charles spearheaded the establishment of All Saints Academy Primary School a successful Church venture modeling students using the Gospel. He has been the Chairman of Global Faith Partnership an Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) student feeding project that enables Students feed well and concentrate on their studies.

Currently the Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Maseno East and a holder of Bachelor of Divinity of Uganda Christian university and a Licentiate in Theology of St. Pauls University. Has attended Courses in Resource mobilization, guidance and counselling, youth leadership, substance abuse and HIV and AIDS trainings amongst others. As an Ordained Minister has worked as a Parish Priest providing Parochial oversight and rose up to the Position of the Provost a Key Church Position that deputies the Diocesan Bishop on Ecclesiastical responsibilities and Chairman of Liturgical Committee He has held various positions among them Chairman of NCCK Kisumu Region, Board member Community initiatives support services, Chairman of the Strategic Building and Development Committee at St. Stephens Cathedral in the See of Maseno South and the Chairman of the Board of Mission.

He is a holder of Masters in Development Economics of Victoria University in Manchester UK and B.sc in Economics and Political Science of Edinburgh University in Scotland. Until 2002 he was the CEO of Kenya Freedom from Hunger Council and has also been the National Co-ordinator Food policy secretariat under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in the Kenyan Government besides having been a Program Officer with FAO under the United Nations. He was conferred with the Head of State Commendation for distinguished service by the President of the Republic of Kenya in 2002 and Decorated with the Silver Star medal (SS) for distinguished service by the President of the Republic of Kenya. He has held various governance positions Chairing the Boards of Akoko, Nyamira, Nyangoma High Schools and Member of the University Councils of Maseno University and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. He held Directorships at The National Irrigation Board, Water Resources Management Authority and National Water and Pipeline.

He has vast experience of over 20 years in Strategy Development, Management of Consortiums of organisations and resource mobilization, Monitoring, evaluation and researchHas held various Board Directorships amongst them the Board of Social Services of the Anglican Church of Kenya Countrywide, Kenya Community Based Health Financing outfit, Great Lakes University of Kisumu Bishop Okullu Campus Board and Chairman of Various School Boards of Management Previously worked as a Hospital Administrator, Gender Cordinator covering the entire country and a Program Manager charged with among other Designing community interventions providing oversight and advice for successful implementation of programs. He is a Part time Lecturer and researcher and has made publications on food security
